The Suit of Wands- Pin Ups

I don't know why, but I had a hell of a time with the royalty for this suit. All the other royalties have a theme of some kind, and I just couldn't come up with a good one for wands. Originally it was girls in costumes, but that seemed to blend in to pentacles too much with the girls with jobs. Pinup girls in work uniforms look like they're wearing costumes half the time, because real workers don't dress like pinup girls. So you will notice that I have two different sets of royalty posted here. I'm putting them both up so that Amanda can see them and give her opinion on which she likes. My preference is leaning towards the gambling girls, just because gambling seems to go along with wands to me, passionate and risk taking. I don't know, just my thought process. The witches go back to the original costume idea, but this time definitely not blending with pentacles. And something about witches implies passion to me. Maybe I'm just crazy. Anyways, this is what I did.

***EDIT***
Upon further discussion, Amanda and I have decided we like the gambling girls for the royalty, so those are the ones that will be printed.

The Swords Suit- Pin Ups

Two in one day! I told you the swords wouldn't take me long. I'd pretty much already made all the replacements other than the royalty. Now, irritatingly enough I wasn't able to follow my themes for knights and pages in this suit because there just wasn't as much military pinup art as I would like. But my royalty is a matched set of four, and I think that's pretty neat. I'm actually very happy with this suit, which is odd considering the fact that I always struggle with the swords suit, we just don't get along, plus I was trying to depict tragedy and heartbreak with happy cheerful pin up girls. I don't know I just like how it came out.

Also, that 5 of swords. I laughed forever when I found that. I never thought finding a picture to mean cutthroat and win at all costs would be so easy. God I love that one.

The Suit of Pentacles- Pin Ups

Told you I was making good time on this deck. I think it's going pretty well. I think I should be able to knock out the suit of swords pretty fast here too. As I'm sure you've seen so far we have tried to make sure that the royalty of each suit has a theme- the cups were all holding drink, here we have women who are all working at various jobs. The swords royalty are all soldiers, or in some form of military uniform at least. I'm still working on wands. At the moment all the girls are dressed up in costumes, but it kinda blurs with the pents royalty, I'm not super thrilled with it. So I'm trying to come up with a better theme for wands, but I'm having a little trouble. Right now I'm leaning towards gambling girls, with dice or poker cards or whatever. You know, wands are passionate, and they're gonna be risk takers. Like gambling. I guess? It sorta makes sense. I don't know, I'm still messing with it. But I am also trying to make the royalty match traditional imagery. My pages have some form of communication, like cups was a waitress who brings drinks to people. here, pentacles page has a typewriter. You'll see the others. My knights are pictured with vehicles, since knights traditionally ride horses. I try to make my queens look very feminine, and the kings have been doing things that are a little more masculine, like drinking beer in the cups, and welding here. That's what I'm trying fr at least. Anyways, here's the pentacles!

The Suit of Cups- Pin Ups

So, I'm trying really hard to get this deck done, and it's going fairly quickly because Amanda and I previously went through and picked out the artwork for the deck. However, since then I went on a crazy pinup art collecting spree. Seriously, my pin up board on Pinterest is up over 1000 pins. That stuff is addicting, they're all so pretty!

Anyways, it goes pretty quick except that we are redoing a bunch of the cards with new better pictures I've found, so that slows me down a bit. Some we just found pictures that were a better fit, some I wasn't able to find high enough resolution images of, and few were in an art style that just didn't match or turned out to be cleverly edited photographs of real people when I looked closer, so that wasn't gonna work. But I've finished the cups now. Here they are:
